Wallacea Dive Cruise, PO Box 136, 94701 Luwuk - Central Sulawesi, Indonesia

Practical Information

    - Dives:

We offer daily 3 day dives + 1 night dive almost every night.

    • No dive on the first day for divers just arriving from abroad
    • 2 dives on the last day of the cruise
    • No dive the on the departure day (departure is at 10 AM

Average duration of a dive is 60 minutes.
All dives are guided. On board is a western Padi Dive instructor as well as 2 Indonesian dive guides with a lot of experience. The ratio is generally of 3 to 4 divers/guide. On request, we can hire an individual dive guide especially for Lembeh area.
We will ask you to respect a few basic safety rules:

    - To perform all the dives into the safety curve and to avoid to go “into deco”
    - To do a mandatory safety stop of 5 minutes at 5 meters at the end of each dive.
    - To always stay close to your dive buddy during the dive.
Water temperature is an average 28°C., with a minimum 26°. We recommend you to have a long wet suit. Beside of the dive boat we also have a dinghy with an outboard engine. We therefore can split the divers if some wish to dive a different dive site.
    Safety:
There is a well equipped and managed decompression chamber in Manado. We carry on board a 25 liters tank of O2 + 2 x 7 lts tanks.

    - Land Visit:
It is possible to get down on the islands for short excursions, enjoy the beach, or a great night beach barbecue. The dinghy is always available with a crew to go on shore. The last day of the North Sulawesi cruise, we propose a trip to the Tankoko national Park to see Sulawesi macaques and tarsiers.

    - Malaria:
There is malaria in the area, but so far we never got any mosquito on board. The use of repellents when you get to shore is probably a sufficient protection, but it's also depends on the rest of your trip in Indonesia.

    - Insurance:
Due to the remoteness of the area, an insurance covering medical evacuation in case of illness or accident is recommended.

    - Money exchange:
There are ATM's and money changers in Manado. Euros and USD can be exchanged, but USD have to be fairly new (>2000), in very good condition and in notes of 100 or 50 to be accepted and exchanged with a fair rate. If you come from Europe, you don't need to bring USD as they are actually more difficult to exchange than Euros.

    - Batteries recharge / electricity on board:
Each cabin is equipped with 220 V sockets, and there is also a bunk of 220 volts sockets to recharge batteries, running 24/24 hours. Sockets are round, European type.

    - Download pictures from a digital camera:
On request, a laptop is available on board to download your pictures, and we can burn CDs or DVD.

    - We give you:
    Tanks, weights and belts.
Soap, shampoo, tooth paste, two towels/pax.
